Keeping your office clean and in good shape might seem like a huge task, but it doesn’t have to be.

Here are 5 ways to keep your office looking great.

Use a Minimalist Design

It’s a lot easier to keep the office looking good if you use a minimalist design. It also means there’s less stuff to clean. Getting rid of the clutter is where you should start if you want to give your office a new minimalist design. Go for a simple, light colour scheme and get rid of anything that doesn’t need to be in the office. Once you’ve done that, the office will instantly look simpler and cleaner, so why not give it a try?

Manage the Wires

It’s easy to be overwhelmed by wires in the modern office. There are so many and they seem to be everywhere! If you’re not careful, those wires could even become a health and safety hazard. It is possible to manage them and keep them tidy though. You can buy some trunking that you wrap around the wires to keep them where you want them, you should label all wires so you know what each of them is for and connected to, and you should ensure they are not located somewhere you could trip on. This also prevents them from getting all tangled up and forming a huge wire ball, and we all know how difficult they are to untangle.

Clean the Office Thoroughly

Aside from the day to day tidying of the office, you’ll also need to give it a thorough clean every so often. This should be done once a month or so, but don’t leave it too long. However hard you try to keep the office clean and tidy, the dirt and mess still manages to build up over time. You could hire a team of cleaners from one of the reputable cleaning franchises or you could do it yourself. It doesn’t matter who does it, as long as it gets done to a high standard.

Make Everyone Responsible for Their Own Desk

If you have a big office, it can be pretty difficult to keep it all clean. It’s not something that you’ll be able to do on your own. You’ll need the help of everyone in the office if it’s going to be kept tidy all year round. The easiest way to organise and share the cleaning responsibilities is to make each employee responsible for keeping their own desk and work area tidy. Then you’ll only have to deal with the other areas of the office, reducing the strain on you.

Keep Food Out

The quickest way to make the office look messy and unclean is to let your employees eat in there. You should have one room where employees can go to eat food, that way the main office won’t run the risk of turning into a huge messy every lunchtime. It might be convenient for people to eat at their desks, but it can cause a lot of problems. Spilt drinks can cause serious damage to the company computers for example. Whichever way you look at it, it makes sense to have a separate room where people can eat. If you work from home leaving the home office at lunch time is a good chance to stretch, and ensure that you are not sitting all day and all night at your desk.
